Saturday, December 21, 2024 9 am update

It’s officially the first day of winter and what better way to celebrate than to visit Crotched Mountain! Ski and ride 10 trails today. Our guests yesterday afternoon and evening were treated to a light, fluffy snowfall and a few snow showers may linger into this morning. Acccumulations were just over an inch. The Rocket will be spinning until 9 pm; the West lift and Lift Off will be rolling until 8 pm. Race training will be underway on Meteor this morning; update to follow on opening/closings of that trail.

*New terrain: Retro is now open!

After a chance of snow showers this morning, skies will remain mostly cloudy. High will be 23F, winds NW at 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Temperatures will fall into the single digits tonight under partly cloudy skies with winds 5 to 10 mph. Don’t let the cold temperatures slow you down. Dress in warm clothing, cover exposed skin and take frequent breaks to warm up.

Base depths are at 25 inches on open terrain with sweet machined groomed packed powder. Our groomers have set up for a great guest experience. Our snowmaking team will be using the help of these cold temperatures to go all out after operating hours Saturday night and continue through Sunday. Guests can expect a fresh coat on open terrain. 💫Learning to ski and ride or advancing your skills? Our instructors are dedicated to teaching people of all ages to learn to ski and snowboard and have FUN while doing it! Group and private lessons are available. 

Uphill access is OPEN for the season on designated routes only. Beginning at 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 12:30 am Saturdays and 5:30 p.m. on Sundays. All uphill users must return to the base 15 minutes prior to lift opening for operation (8:45 am). Note that mountain operations may be operating machinery and equipment at any time, so take extra caution and give them room. Absolutely NO uphill travel on active snowmaking trails during non-operational hours. We appreciate your cooperation.
